This launch partnered with PLANETSIDE, LEAGE OF LEGENDS, GUILD WARS, and BORDER LANDS, utilizing footage and assets from the games throughout and across the units

 

The entire sequence was designed with Alienware's core audience of hardcore gamers in mind and the global brand campaign's shared tagline, "Game Victorious"

1 of 3 from the global launch of the suite of Alienware gaming laptops

 

The M17x partnered with the launch of the RESIDENT EVIL video game and utilized footage and audio from the game throughout

 

My concept was to expand the gaming experience beyond the screen, immersing the player in the action

 

In-Game footage on screen extends to the environment around it, starting out slowly as the heroes quietly move through the streets in search of their enemies 

 

A snipers release kicks the action in gear as the bullets fly, ending with a final explosion and the tagline "Get inside the game"

For the largest unit of the Alienware laptop series we chose an epic fantasy environment to play against the game partners visuals, GUILD WARS

 

The laptop is set against a field of battle and a right in the middle of a fortress seige

The smallest unit of this Alienware product launch was all about power and mobility, weight and battery life was the focus and we set the unit in a subway tube station to accentuate that point

 

Footage from the game LEAGUE OF LEGENDS plays on screen as subway cars race through the station and the message, "Triumph knows no boundaries" reads across the screen

Online preroll video ad for the M14x gaming laptop

 

A short and fun little online pre-roll for the Alienware M14x, featuring mobility and power

 

Again I set the unit in an urban environment, down in a train station of a big city to speak to the message, "Mobility without sacrifice"

Product video for  Alienware's largest gaming laptop, the M18x

 

I pitched the concept of this beast of a laptop as a 'heavy weapon' and visuals throughout the video equate it as the ultimate weapon in the player's arsenal

 

Our animator swapped the unit with multiple models of guns and other weapons and added the gamer action scenes

 

The entire video is set to the sound of weapons, locked and loaded, and blasting away in a fast paced FPS game as "

 

A Chorus of Guns" as the soundtrack supports the messaging, "No weapon is more powerful", "Spread Fear", and "You have no excuse"

Product video for the Alienware M17x gaming laptop

 

This video was really a team effort. The Director created the opening and final live shots of a gamer walking down a dark street with the shadow of an alien brandishing multiple weapons in as many arms

 

I created storyboards that gave me the opportunity to highlight the 3D capabilities of this device and the high end graphics features it offered

 

We took a heavy handed approach to the copy and really went nuts with everything. 

 

I think this is the only time a client has asked if we could, "have more fire" in a video
